What do you think is a fair price to pay for entertainment a month.

I do not go out to the bars, nor do i smoke or drink. i don't spend money on other types of entertainment really. even when i buy personal stuff, like shampoo, i get it off ebay in lots, so i save there money there. should i feel quilty becase i pay 17 a month for netflix, 3 at a time. sometimes i feel like i could even upgrade without a problem. I mean people go to bingo all the time, and spent 20 a night. Am I doing something wrong, or should I not feel quilty at all. I have savings account, no job right now, I take care of the house and my boyfriend works. I also go to college full time. should i feel guilty because i spend 20 a month on netflix?

i know. my mom alwys complains, cuz shes broke, and says i should give her money if i can afford to spend 20 a month on bingo. but she'll spend 15 a night on bingo. whats the difference? if i spent 30 a month on it it still shouldnt be a big deal. i just feel bad after she says it.

no, i dont even live with her. thats what im saying, i live with my boyfriend, our bills equal about 400 a month, but we both get money left over from pell and stuff. i do housework and put money in on rent. he pays more rent than i do, but i also cook supper every night and do all the housework. my mom just preaches to me about spending 20 dollars on movies. she says i dont need them. my bf and I dont go out too often, cuz neither of us party. we would rather stay home, and work on homework or spend time just together.

$20 a month for Netflix seems very reasonable. Think what going out to one movie costs!

whose money are you spending yours?---maybe from loans or is your mom or someone supporting you. maybe get a job 10hrs a week just to pay for your entertainment costs that way you cant feel guilty because its your money. im in college full time and my husband works full time and he goes to college part time so i understand being on a restricted budget and trying to have some fun at the same time. if your mom is supporting you for now then I would suggest getting that pt job and you wont have to feel guilty or worry what she thinks.

What is YOUR income? What are your other expenses? Subtract your expenses from YOUR income and the get the MAXIMUM you should spend on entertainment.

Nothing else you said matters.
