we save 10%. So gives us a little more money. Every penny counts as they say.

As for why its good for the shop? it gets the students in. If there is a choice between buying a CD in HMV or Virgin and can save 10% at HMV then most will use HMV. Also students probably buy more CDs and DVDs than any other demographic so its worth them losing 10% because the quantity of sales will more than make up for it

Appeals to the student as they can get cheaper products on the high street than maybe other shops. Although10% is quite a big amount off, it should be made up by attracting more students into the shop, spending more money than they maybe would have.

it is ok of you do a lot of shopping for your family as well because they can give you the money and you could keep the extra 10 % yourself

Because they're attracting us to their store to buy things.
Even if we get adiscount, they're still making a profit.
