For the purpose of this Declaration, torture means any act by which severe pain or suffering, whether physical or mental, is intentionally inflicted by or at the instigation of a public official on a person for such purposes as obtaining from him or a third person information or confession, punishing him for an act he has committed or is suspected of having committed, or intimidating him or other persons. It does not include pain or suffering arising only from, inherent in or incidental to, lawful sanctions to the extent consistent with the Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners.

Note the mental part. Waterboarding counts despite what the poorly educated and very inhuman people believe. I didnt leave a mark doesnt count. If you beat someone with a rubber hose and they dont have bruises its still torture.

The Geneva Convention usually provides the most common definition of what is and is not acceptable. However, most countries choose to interpret or even ignore the rules of this convention. The United States is far from the only nation in the world that uses questionable interrogation techniques.

you are a typical liberal, any nation or people that allows the opinions of the world to influence its policies, decisions,or national interest,is doomed to become a slave of liberals, just as the democrats/liberals in the U.S. have re-enslaved our black population with threats of losing their free government benefits, the true slave owners(democrats) are reclaiming their property, after a republican entered into a civil war to free the slaves from democrats are now giving their freedom to the dems on a sliver platter, and they do not even see the danger!
