I had an abdominal hysterectomy 7 weeks ago. For some reason, I have had off/on bladder problems ever since the surgery - constant urinating. I took a UTI test last week and it came back that I had a UTI so I went on antibiotics but now I'm doing the constant urinating again. My doctor just seems to blow me off and says it's normal but I can't believe it is. Has anyone had this problem and how did they handle it with their doctor.

Avoid gluten completely. When you are done healing from the surgery, and when your UTI is completely healed (about 3 weeks after the start of the antibiotics if you take them exactly on time the whole time you have them) things should get better. Drink lots and lots of water, avoid sugar, and eat yogurt without sugar in it 2 hours after each antibiotic tablet. Good luck!

I have friends who have had problems with their bladder after having a hysterectomy. One of them ended up with a condition called Interstitial Cystitis. I would recommend consulting a urologist (a doctor that diagnoses and treats diseases and disorders of the bladder) to see what they think is going on.
