The President of the Senate is the Vice President. The Vice President may have their own motives to see a President convicted or exonerated. The Chief Justice is appointed for life, and has no higher government authority to which to answer.

He/she is a judge and we need balance of power. The Constitution is a wonderful document. Get a copy and read it. Some in the highest levels of government either haven't read it or think it is a goddamn piece of paper but they are wrong. Read and see for yourself.
