I am was given the depo shot on Oct 30th. I am only taking it long enough to get me through my Essure procedure. My partner and I are very nervous. My doctor said that I am protected within 24 hours. We don't want an unwanted pregnancy since we are seeking permanent birth control through the Essure produre. We have been using condoms for a year and it's time to stop. I hope anyone can help. I haven't had any side effects as of Nov 1st. If I do have any side effects would they have shown up by now?

It would be wrong for me to advise you not knowing your history. I strongly suggest you start by calling a pharmacist to give
you a full consultation. Make a list of questions to ask him or her. And make sure you leave with ALL your questions answered. The next move is to speak with your Doctor. Once again make a list of question. Don't leave until you feel you got the answers you needed.
Good luck, I will pray for you and I think all will turn out just fine.

I hope you don't suffer ill effects from it.

You could still get side affects from the shot, sometimes it takes a while for them to kick in.
