...point of interest: in 2004, actor William H.Macy, taking comtemporary inspiration from Jackie Gleason's film, in association with Paramount and TNT, wrote, produced and starred in a modern-day remake of "Gigot", entitled "The Wool Cap"; although far from achieving the ledvel of the original film, it was still quite respectable...

...the original film has yet to see release on video...

Gigot. It was a remake of a french story about a simpleton named Gigot who was a down and out bum with a heart of gold.
