The order is normally issued for a specific term. It could be anywhere from days to years.
Unless the order specifies that you can not have a firearm you could still buy one legally. The existence of an order even with the restriction is not likely to stop a person from actually purchasing a firearm if the desired.

If it is a Domestic Violence Restraining Order (as defined by the state), you are banned under federal law from possessing a firearm for the greater of two years and the length of time the order is in force. I have seen that law save someone's life.

Depends on the county, check with a local lawyer to be sure.
And if you're going to shoot the person who got the restraining order, just remember, FL has the death penalty. Lethal injection or the chair.

I don'"t know about FL. but WV last 90 days and can be extended through the court. and no you cannot have possession of a firearm.
