By getting 3 estimates from 3 different mechanics stating my speedometer was faulty and showing 8-10 miles slower than I was going. The last one also wrote that the problem had been corrected/date and what had been done to correct.. Of course I knew the mechanics and they were ok with "doing me a favor". I showed up and when called forward explained and showed the judge the documents. He dismissed the case due to mechanical defect.

Also, it is possible that the officer who gave you the ticket may not show up for the court date. Especially if you live in a rural area and were given the ticket by county or state troopers. If the officer does not show to confront the accused, the case will either be continued (held over to another date) or dismissed. Usually dismissed. Small town judges don't like officers who don't show up.

Haha... never got one before, but I know this woman, she's like my 3rd grandma, any way, she is 93 and two years ago she got a ticket and the year before. She got out of both of them! She just told the cop, " You youngin's are always telling old people that they're going too slow, so I was just going a little faster." The officer just laught and told her not to do it again. The second time she had to go to court and when she was talking with the judge she said the same thing and got out of it!
Mrs. A is so crazy!

In my state the officer clocking has to be present in court, he was not.

We got pulled over for DUI once (I am sure that would have been the charge), anyway, I told the guy driving to hurry up and pull down his pants and when the officer approached the car we made it appear that we were up to something else. He patted the driver on the back and said "you kids get a room". We drove away drunk (I do not recommend this).

yes once I had a paramedic sticker on the back window and the cop and I started telling war stories. I still got a ticket for a seat belt ( I was parking in my driveway) but it beats the fine I would have gotten

I've had one in 37 years of driving. I was speeding on a country road and I swear, he just showed up out of no where! I didn't even try to get out of it- it cost me something like $80 and that was in 1982!

I've never had the chance to get out of one because I've never gotten one. But I think I got out of a parking ticket.

Never gotten one. But if I do, I just have to flash the cop and he'll let me go.

That was a joke by the way, don't take it too seriously.
