Alright so heres my situation, my school is doing kiss me kate and my drama teacher is basically giving me a fairly large part because i act well. However i do not sing, nor have i ever learned to, no one knows if im bad or not bad but im sure im not great i've never had lessons i dont know what pitch i have. basically i was not meant to sing but my teacher thinks i can for some reason. So really i want to know what parts in kiss me kate sing with a chorus, or which ones have simple songs to learn.

What character? Bill Calhoun/Lucentio is more a dancer than a singer anyway, and "Bianca" is a dead simple song. The Gangsters have just one Vaudeville-type song, and all other male leads are just actors.

If you have been cast as Fred/Petruchio, watch out. You got a long tough road ahead of you. If you cannot sing your way through this role, quit.

Why are you doing a musical if you cannot sing?

Hmmm. It has been a while. Cole Porter songs can be "acted" in most cases and do not have to be sung beautifully. With a little help you ought to be able to manage somehing like "Why Can't You Behave?" done by the second female lead. The first female lead probably has more difficult songs, but I can't remember them.

If you cannot sing I have no idea why your teacher would cast you in a large role in this muscial. Your teacher sounds insane.
