I think it depends on how much of a "know it all" they are. Do they really know it all? or just think they do??? You can let a lot slide by if they really do know it all... if not, then maybe say something like, "wow! it is great to have a friend that really knows it all!" and then smile. You took the high road, but got your point across. I hope this helps! ღ♥ღ♥ღ

My experience has taught me that people that are "know it alls" are usually hiding something, and this is their way of compensating for it.

When they are blowing off about something, I allow them to go until I begin feeling uncomfortable and leave if possible, but leaving is not an option, change the subject and just let it go. That is, unless you want to take on the challenge of setting he or she straight with your counter.

That is also usually fruitless and just lowers you to their level, which you don't want.

There are 3 ways (I know because I used to be one):

1. Avoid the person
2. Be better at something than the person
3. Tell him/her

Punch him,lol No not really, I take what is good and leave the rest. When I can prove him wrong, that makes me happy.

when at work, show them how just like everyone else and repeat and repeat and repeat with witnesses... they might know it all but they forget just like everyone else does too....only they won't admit it and when something goes wrong, you can say that they were told repeatedly and..you have someone who can relate steps that were taken...

I just let them go on, and on. if they think they know it all there's no point in arguing with them. I know in my mind whats right or not.

I just agree with everything they say and thank them for their extensive knowledge. Of course, I do it in the most sarcastic voice I can muster.
