The biggest rivalry? Habs-Leafs are. Tickets are in high demand for those ones. Also, it is why the league schedules them to play every second Saturday on HNIC or so it often seems.

Leafs-Sens
Leafs-Habs
Flames-Oilers
Wings-Avs

Bob: have to respectfully disagree with you. While the Leafs/Habs rivalry has been around a long time ( and it is a great rivalry), in my 41 years of watching hockey, I've never seen a tougher, more intense game than any of the Leafs/Sens games. History may play a part in this, but you can't deny that a Flames/Oilers game doesn't instill a sense of anticipation as to how tough, rough and intense the game will be. To suggest that the Leafs/Habs is the biggest rivalry because of English/French may be a bit of a stretch.

Nashville v. Columbus!

LOL

I'd say Detroit/Colorado... or Toronto/Ottawa.

The reason I don't think Calgary/Edmonton is that Oiler fans pulled for the Flames against Tampa Bay. Every Leaf fan I knew pulled for the Ducks last year... and you'd never see a Red Wing fan pullling for the Av's.

If you were born yesterday you'd come up with an answer other than Toronto Montreal. If you know nothing about the history of the game you would come up with another answer but HELLO!!!! no other rivalry has existed so long. No other rivalry comes close. This predates the NHL for cripes sake. If you want to talk about new rivlaries or good rivalries mention the others by all means but bow down to the grandaddy of them all and give it it's due.

Whoa, LITY's testing out his standup act.

-ESPN bias will say NYR vs NJD which is a great rivalry.
-Here in St. Louis, I'd wish the Blackhawks & Blues would gain that back, but I truly think Blues vs Red Wings here in St. Louis will be the rivalry here for awhile, although lately the Predators & Jackets have elevated to rivals against the Blues.
-Edmonton vs Dallas is a great one

Nobody's mentioned it yet, so I'll bring it up now.....that pesky Phoenix-Dallas rivalry gets me every time.

C'mon, who can pass up seeing those two go at it 8x a year. Right behind it though is that burgeoning Columbus-Nashville rivalry...whoa...getting dizzy just thinking about them!
