The Brown Recluse (Brown Widow) and the Black Widow do share the same habits and habitat but reproduce independent of each other.
They like dark undisturbed places, weave an irregular web with one main line, and a person doesn't know they've been bit until afterward.
We have plenty of both in Missouri.
People get bitten here more often by the Brown Recluse, which leaves an unhealing ulcer that has to be removed and treated with antibiotics or the skin around the bite keeps rotting.
The Black Widow is most dangerous (female) when protecting the egg sac and will attack 2-3 times, which can kill a young child.
Brown Recluses always look the same-except sizes vary but the Black Widow has different color variations.
Besides the hourglass (typically known pattern) on the underside, it may have red spots from rear to the middle, one red spot on rear, dark brown body, may have white spots, and the male is different looking.

No. Two completely different species. They don't share habits nor habitat.
