Canadians tend to forget they were a British colony at the time, so like to take complete credit for the victory.

The Americans like to pretend they won and tend to ignore the fact that their capital was sacked.

Canadians know darned well we were an English colony, but that does not take away from the fact that we whupped the Americans.
