Only D.

A is wrong because boy's implies only one boy.
B is wrong because theirs doesn't use an apostrophe.
C is wrong because plurals like children's use 's.
D is correct, assuming that Carl and Sara each own separate schoolbooks, rather than having joint ownership.

D is correct.
C: "children", not "childrens" is the plural, the period belongs to all of them, so it's "children's"
A: the team belongs to all the boys, not just one of them, so it should be boys'. While you might argue "girls" is not incorrect (the boys play Fridays, the girls play alternate Thursdays) the opposing reference to "girls" is "boys' team", therefore "girls" should be understood to mean "girls' team" and spelt accordingly.
B: I have to plead ignorance on this one - I'd probably cop-out (so to speak) and write "Their bus is the first...."
