Personally, I think it's because more people are adding religion to the mix...or, anti-religion. This means they are getting doubly passionate about politics, which makes them less, not more, tolerant of others. As I aged, I became more of a moderate, until those opposing my opinions became so angry and hateful. I'm a life-long Democrat, but I actually have less respect for politicians than ever before, and this is the result of the terrible mess this President has made for us. I really resent him for allowing our young people to be dying because of his decision to mistakenly invade a country that never harmed us. Bush has ruined our credibility and respect .

You are correct harryd. We do get a lot of immature or childish stuff on this venue. And I can understand why it might bother you a bit. I have seen your questions and answers and they are almost always very very good. Informative and thought provoking.
But to tell the truth I enjoy seeing some of the "goofy" stuff as well. It breaks the ice and helps the forum in the fun dept sometimes.
Of course 12 year olds and below are restricted here but they come anyway so just let it go.

It is rather amusing that this is what politics have come to. Nobody is actually concerned with the issues anymore. People are more interested in being right or bringing shame to those who disagree.
I am not American, however I have often wondered why the American people tolerate such misconception and rhetoric from their representatives. Coming onto yahoo answers made it blatantly clean that far too many people are caught up in this liberal vs. Conservative debate, that they don't even demand their representative do their jobs.

You can tell that they have never held a job.
