My husband and I both work 9-5 jobs but I do all the housework except laundry. He only does the laundry because I hate it. How can I get him to do more of the household chores without being drastic? I'll take any advice because I've tried many things but to no avail.

Ask him to do some of the chores, and let him choose which ones he thinks he can manage. But when he does it differently than you did, remember not to point out how it is different. He will let you do it if you critisize, that's Not Nice.

Make a list of the chores that have to be done, and divide them equally on alternating weeks. If you get yours done but his remain undone, leave them unattended. Very soon the deficit will become obvious. And no one can argue with a list because lists don't argue back. Good luck.

It shouldn't be a matter of who does what...You both work and you both share a home together....You both should work together to maintain a clean living environment....Take one room at a time and whoever is done cleaning first should move on to the next...If not split the rooms up accordingly so you both don't feel overwhelm...Talk it through together and remember a relationship is based on two people not one....Always compromise...You'll be much happier....

Quit. Seriously, quit doing what it is you think he should take over. When he notices, simply explain, it's just too much, and you can't keep up, what with working 9 to 5, and everything else you do. Tell him, how you'd appreciate it if he could help out more.

Hire a maid, then neither of you will have to do the chores.
