serious candidates on the ballot. What a mistake. The politicians are making a mockery of their offices, why not have someone like Colbert make a mockery of the whole system? He's going to blast them on his show. Does this prove anyone cannot run for office?

Bluesman, the word is sonny, not sunny, that describes the weather. Go do your homework. I did mine forty years ago.

Anybody can run for president if you are over 35 years old, I think every celebrity with tv exposure should run for president to keep the lying politicians out of office.

Do you think he is a serious candidate? Of course not. Obviously Steven Colbert doesn't consider himself a serious candidate.
The politicians are making a mockery of their offices? We live in the greatest democracy in the world, sunny, so stop with all this nonsense and GO DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

Anyone can run for office. However you musty be member of the appropriate party to run as the candidate for that party. Otherwise Dick Cheney could run as a democrat as well.
A person that wants to run but is unable to run as a candidate for a political party can run as an independent.

Pat Paulson and Ralph Nader did the same thing, as a joke..oh wait...Nader was actually on the ballot. He was called a "spolier". I think that Colbert is hilarious.

I agree. All it says to me is that only people in the club are allowed to run for office.
