Things would be just as they are now; self centered, money grubbing politicians that are not representative to their constituents.

"Darwinism" isn't a philosophy - it's a theory arising from Darwin's idea that new species originate from a buildup of variations brought about by mutations. The principle idea behind Darwinism is "survival of the fittest", which means that those organisms whose mutations are beneficial to their survival will live on to reproduce and spread the mutation into the next generation, while those organisms whose mutations are deleterious to their health won't pass on the harmful genes. There's a lot more behind the theory than just that, but since it's not really what you asked, I won't go on.
So how would the USA be different if elected officials accepted "Darwinism"? Well, for one, we'd probably have an administration that's a lot friendlier to ALL forms of science (and not just evolutionary biology). As for the rest of the people who don't understand or refuse to accept the validity of evolution...I guess they'd go on living the same way they always have been.

Darwinism, is a theory, Charles Darwin himself always maintained it was a theory. However, when those who follow the doctrine of "Intelligent design" (and it is a doctrine), use rigid scientific criteria to challenge "Darwinism", they fail to use the same criteria against "Intelligent design" or "Creationism", arguing "faith" is sufficient. I suppose if a US politician was to bring this crap (creationism/ID) from his private ideology to public office (some would argue George Bush does), you'd have a US version of a Christian Taliban. Those ultra right religious morons living in the appalatian mountains or the Michigan Millitia would be running the country. Mind you since you've got such a powerful religious right, you're almost already there; with corrupt diplogians\theocrats running the country and going to war with all and sundry because "god told him to".

~Gee, maybe our valiant leaders would try to sell us on the concept that the black slaves and Native Americans of the 1800's, the Japanese of the 40's, the Vietnamese of the 60's, or the Afghans, Iraqis and Iranians of today are sub-human, uncivilized barbarians worthy of nothing more than our contempt, condemnation and a few bullets and bombs.

Darwinism isn't a philosophy, it's a THEORY.
It can't be practiced.
Unlike a religion....

I still think that the human race is an experiment of aliens, or at least their creation.
