Lack of spiritual knowledge. Our society has made a blur of what is right and what is wrong. Predators have more rights than victims. People can use mental illness as a defense when it was pure bad judgement. No one being held accountable for their actions is what the media amplifies to us and our children. Then religious leaders saying one thing and "doing" not only the kids but nothing to lead a blinded following. For those who understand the Bible, know it does not teach doom, but accountabliity for ones actions & freedom from this madness that only God can accomplish.
World conditions today under man's rule:

Decay? whatever. There is always this huge concept of entropy and that everything is decaying and falling apart. Nothing comes from death but new life as the cycles have been for eons and morality is the same thing. Regardless of what Christians think about evolution, they cannot argue that there is social evolution, ideas and values change and morph to each society as it grows and prospers. It's one of the reasons so many societies have difference morals now then when Noak walked off the ark and god swore he'd never flood anything again (like he kept THAT promise). If social evolution never happened then we would all still hold on to the one moral code.
Moral decay in the US? Only if you believe that society should never change it's moral values to actually work with the factors involved in the people who live in it.

The same reason that there is moral decay everywhere in the world... there is more freedom for people to be human, and the flaws of our nature have no limits.
So, the question should be, is this decay necessary? Well it is arguably the case. Because everyone knows that most people need to see dark to know light, and bad to know good. If they played follow the leader, then they'd be doing good for the wrong reasons.
It's been done that way, and we're continually brought back to the point that we're at now. It's never helped anyone in the long run, to coerce people into doing things, the best way is to influence them. Know what I mean?
This is why war is foolish....
and conservative governments are the most dangerous.

It depends. Do you mean moral decay in the political sense, or otherwise. This question could mean different things to different people.
Most recently, being exposed to many statistics about the decline of the middle class, I'd have to say that value the US places on making money and competition in that sense is creating moral decay in the U.S.

Moral decay has been created by society. Years ago people would not applaud children being born out of wedlock, the media promoting sex scandals and other immoral acts. Our celebraties think they can do anything and get away with it, including murder, cheating, drunkedness, adultery and theft. Our church attendance is down, Divorce rates are higher than ever before. There is no longer family life - people just go their own way and do there own thing. Pre-teen and teenage girls dress provacatively. Sexuality is used to sell everything from soap to coffee. You can no longer discipline your child or you are accused of abuse. That is why we have moral decay and it is not only in the US it is world wide.

That's like asking, "What have created food decay in the U.S.?" Morals decay, that's just human nature. That's not ever going to change, unless we keep humans in freezers.

I will have to partially agree with John on blaming the media for moral decay.
Every action that affects our sense of morality on a greater level and impacts those around us usually ends up on the news, in the paper, or on the radio. (Murders, abuse, neglect, ect.)
Media perpetuates the message that we're not alone in our thinking which can sometimes be possitive, however more often than not it's something that sets a poor example.
The biggest problem are parents. Old parents, young parents, new parents, ect. We allow our children to watch these stories, to rot their brains with television and then one day as our innocent babes kill their abusive spouses or crying babies or run off to some country to slaughter other people because their views don't match our own we wonder why.
There are other small factors but when you think about it, it's a continuing cycle of violence that is allowed to evolve into something more ugly as we desensitize ourselves over and over again through-out multiple generations simply for the sake of entertainment.
(Before any mothers, fathers, young/old/new/ect parents respond with anger, I myself am a parent and admit to allowing myself and my child be warped by the media.)

The fact that workers are paid relatively less today than they were 50 years ago. This results in both parents having to work longer hours which means less time raising their kids. These kids that are somewhat neglected, grow up without the strong, guiding influence parents are supposed to provide.

A few things. The media, for one, who celebrates immorality and other bad things. The attempt to erase God is another, they try to remove the inevitable consequences.
However, I believe the breakdown of the family as the basic unit of society is the biggest reason. The family is under attack. People would rather live together then get married. Divorce rates are up. Abortions are abundant. Gay marriage is allowed in places. This is the problem.
Oh, and by the way, I don't hate gays, people who commit abortions, or people who live together... I just disagree with their actions.
