Davidmi7 is right as long as you are over the age of 18. Realize that if you are not of age or your own guardian, they my consider her as the guardian.

Here are some phone numbers for you to find out exactly how to properly make the statement.

It seems as though you may have to move to a room in a house with a non-relative, or another state that may help even though you are working, or quit working! Sad but true! Do not forget to write your congressman, or better yet, show up at his local office and ask for assistance. It is their job to help you and to be informed as to the problems that their constituents are experiencing due to the laws that they pass! Their are offices on the federal level, the state level and the city level. Good luck and this is another reason for health care for all!

As crazy as it sounds, you may need to room with a friend instead of a family member...I have a gf that called the ACLU over something similar...She room mates with her ex and they don't share anything but the home...Soc. Security took over half of her check..When she lived with me she got her full check..The point is the ACLU is looking into it..They will help if you ask for the disability section.Good luck Anshirk...Laura

I'd reapply and not say that you're rooming with your sister. If she's on the lease, say she's just a roommate-- you have separate bills and she's not helping you at all (don't say she's family).

Might want to consult a lawyer.

Write them a letter and indicate that while you rent a room from your sister, you maintain separate "households".
