Swans. Because songs like Gang, Big Strong Boss, and Raping a Slave flew in the face of the happy-crappy pap that was being force fed to the masses. They defied all expectations and constantly strove to break the rules and not let commerce and a big record contract color what they believed in.

Cinderella. I'm a military fiction author and have used their music in a lot of my books. Some scenes just don't seem right if the right song isn't playing while I read it.
