The Earth could not sustain life or even exist without the sun.

The Earth would last a whole lot longer without the sun as opposed to with it in the grand scheme of things. (Assuming the sun were to just disappear today) Life on Earth? Not so much. We'd be done for very very quickly.

I would say abot 1 million years and it would create ice age 2.

Life would cease. The solar system would have no gravitational core, and we'd go flying off into space, frozen corpses and all.
