I'm about to travel to Prague, but I've got a tight budget. What is the cheapest way to arrive in Prague from Moscow?

Is it even possible to take a train or a bus?

get this one:

Moscow - Vienna - Moscow Only on: SU 263/264 126 EUR/RT

* Restrictions on the days of the week: no
* Period of sale: from September 19 before December 31, 2007
* Period of transportation: from September 19 before December 31, 2007
* Minimum/Maximum stay: Rule of nearest Sunday / 1 month

then, take a train or a bus from vienna to prague.

I can not find information on the bus, but would not be surprised if there turns out to be one.
Here is a link for the Eurolines bus site in Czech republic: http://www.bei.cz/?refr={966FC03A-197B-4D47-9624-B0038ABDE1D5}
But I know there are more companies running buses in that part of the world.

This German train planner gives several connections, at least one day and one overnight travel:

If you are in Moscow, walk in a travel agency and ask there. If you do not speak Russian, just write down the essentials, like dates, names of the towns and draw a bus or a train.
As I do not speak Czech nor Russian, I did not try to find the local websites, but they may exist and have an English version too.

There is a direct train and it takes about 30 hours. Also, there are many flights by Aeroflot and Czech Airways which may be cheaper than the train. One point: the train goes through Belorus and you may need a transit visa. You should contact the embassy to find out.

i ve observed a mistake in an answer,pls:from prague to moscow finnair does no longer fly DIRECT!,be careful....if u fly AY you should make a transformation of airplane in Helsinki, .case in point... seek for a around holiday low-fee fare in the airline U desire, (aeroflot or czech airways)and only throw away the return, that's ussually extra inexpensive purchase around holiday than one way... stable success!nicely,you dont desire it,in case you're in prague!fortunate you!
