Some say corporations. others say individuals. I say a combonation of the two. Why is it that junk food must be so much cheaper than healthier foods? Actually that i can answer, because ground up animal remains are the main ingredient in them. no body would buy a package labeled Pig brains and intestenes so why do millions of americans scarf down Big Mac's and what not?

It's fast food, and these days, everybody is in a rush. Theres no time for a good, healthy meal anymore. Those who value there body above there time tend not to do as well in life as those who have opposite values...

I blame both. On the one hand, corporations don't force food down our throat. However, there advertising is very manipulative, and it targets young kids most of the time, who are vulnerable to it. But we cannot hold corporations 100% accountable for our own choises or wrongdoings. There food is bad for us, but we choose to eat it.

These kids grow up fondly remembering the meals they ate at Mcdonalds, and the play areas there to. They go there for nostalgia, and worse still, they bring there kids with them! Then, when they get older, Mcdonalds has made arrangements to accomodate them, with senior discounts, and the oh-so-popular muffins. How do I know this? Sadly, I work there. ...

But again, don't forget, people are pressed for time nowadays. There are alternatives, but to most, this food DOES taste good. What people need is to experiment more with their diets, and try simple things like bagels and cream cheese and such.

So really, who is to blame for the obesity epidemic? Why, we are all to blame.

But you can't just try to get the government to ban fast food, or corporations to make there food healthier. Although many circumstances basically force us to stuff our faces with the greasy crap, there are always alternative. We must choose them, if we wish to combat the obesity epidemic. We are all to blame....

It the fault of 1. individual, 2. Fast food companies, 3. The health department did not education the general public enough. 4. The teachers in school did not educate proper knowledge to the student. 5. The parent keep on giving money to the children to go to buy Big Mac. They eat that too.
You need a health food revolution, new life movement to change the terrible trend! Only in America you see people are so much over weight, one person has to use 3 seats in the bus, or subway. That make everyone sick!

The problem is multi-plexed. It is corporate and our own government, both give up bad information and the FDA will go where the money is.

Fast food is cheep because it isn't really food. It's a combination of artificially processed junk. (buy a McD happy meal, put it on a shelf and look at it in 3 months) It will not rot and the bug will not eat it. It will look exactly the way it did the day you bought it, but it will be dried out.

The national health of any country that our fast food move into
declines immediately. China now has an obesity problem in their young people....wasn't a problem before our fast foods opened there. The Japanese now have serious heart problems because they are drinking more milk and eating more red meat and of course our fast food chains a popular there.

Our restaurants, supersize up to death. When I eat out, I eat 1/2 of my servings and take the rest home for another meal.

If you want a good book on nutrition and health get a copy of Dr. Campbell's China Study.

We all need to take control of our health and our diets. All of the fast food are on a trend to improve the nutrition and quality of their food. And I comment them for this aqction.

But I do not eat at any fast food joint, i do not destroy my bone structure with carbonated sodas. Fruits and veggies, limited meat (wish I could give it up) no fast food, no sodas, nothing white. And I take a whole food nutrtional supplement called Juice Plus+ www.juiceplus.com/+Lb53116. check it out.

You'd be wrong. Most junk food has no Animal Remains in it. Think about it: Chips, Cookies, Candy, French Fries...Also, I guarantee you fast food burgers have no pig brains or intestines in 'em. That might make them taste better!

We live in a society where individual responsibility is being destroyed. Would you rather have the government make the decisions for you? If it's "evil" corporations, that's still a Free Market, and people just have to have the individual responsiblity to say NO.

Look at that, it IS changing. At Wendy's you can now get a side salad with that hunk o' tasty beef! I'm totally sick and tired of people voting for politicians (i.e. Democrats) that just want to be our Nanny.

But really, it's probably Video games and crime too. Because we have distance ourselves from God, we can't allow kids to just go outside and play, it's not safe anymore. We've embraced too much hedonism.

It's been a while I hadn't come across an intelligent question such as this!!! I was going to answer right away before reading it completely, and I was going to say it is all of us who are at fault, by just buying so much packaged and canned goods. But food companies are also at fault by making junk food very appetizing and tasty!

Now, me for example; I've stopped eating junk food (and gotten my family to do likewise) for quite a while now. In part because some relatives of mine are already pretty sick and cannot be eating too much processed food, salty and greasy, either.

A combo of the two. It is cheaper because the ingredients used are cheaper(est) possible. Time and again, fast food that is healthy is turned down by the mass public for Big Macs and the like. Fat is tastier.

Unhealthy food is cheaper because the unhealthy ingredients are cheaper to produce. No one forces anyone to eat the bad foods that they do to become obese although the media definitely has a huge impact on the choices we make. It's all about the money, unfortunately.

There are so many to blame for this but above all it's people's fault coz they cant resist to such an unhealthy life style and also coz they dont prefer homemade food and fitness. To be honest I dont blame corporations. they do their job. according to this it means that everything that are sold by the corporations we must buy it. No.this is wrong. Even though we live in hustle and bustle we can take a fast healthy snack from home. it s not that difficult to take care of your diet and you dont always have to spend a lot of money. Dont tell me that healthy food is more expensive when there are so many girls out there who spend fortunes on plastic surgeons.

It's the individuals. McDonalds has been around for a long long time you know. What also contributes to this is the fact that Americans are very busy a lot of the time so they just head to the drive thru and grab some greasy crap for most of their meals. And yeah, they can order salads and stuff but come on, salads aren't nearly as tasty as a hot juicy burger!

I say the individuals. The McDonalds' of the world are a business, they have to make money, so they are gonna do what they gotta do. The people who are obese CHOOSE to indulge in fast food, and pork, and other harmful foods, they could also CHOOSE to NOT eat those things. At the end of the day, WE EACH have the power to change our diet, or anything else for that matter.
