on your christmas tree (real or artificial) you can put cotton or some white stuff on the tree to give it the effect that it has been snowing. (you can buy some fake snow at your local department store). then decorate the tree with multi coloured lights and it will look like it is a winter wonderland!! also some white shiny balls would look so nice! don't forget to put a white skirt at the bottom of your tree so it will disguise the stand and catch the cotton "snow" if it falls.

I love multicolored minis on a tree. I put as many of them as my circuits can take without popping a fuse or a breaker.
Walmart sells multi strands for about $2 a box. You can consider upgrading to LEDs as the color is 100 times more brilliant than the incandescent minis.
Great Question and have a wonderful Christmas.

This is how we always decorate our tree and it always looks beautiful:
* Put at least three sets of 50-100 multicolor light sets on the tree. Start at the top and completely wrap around til the very bottom.
* Put ornaments on - silver, gold, red, blue and green.
* Then put candy canes on
* Lastly, cover the tree in different colored icicles. The ones that come in bags and look like confetti. It's kind of like garland but it's in stings.
* Put a nice tree skirt under and an train set that goes around the tree skirt.
Voila! Your tree will look beautiful.

It probably sounds lame but I would use a green tree, red hearts and lots of baby's breath for an accent. Make a tree topper from things around the office. Wrap the plastic tubing used for IV's to make a star or cross and tie with a rubber band thingy that you put on an arm for blood work. Maybe tie some of the rubber bands into bows also. Use white lights so your hearts stand out.

Popcorn stringed up on the tree would be good. One solid color for the bulbs. And choose either red, green or plain lights, multicolored is a little cheesy.

The large bows are always pretty on any tree and not too much clutter. Try and stick to a theme and only use that theme to decorate. Like snowmen, santa claus, snowflakes, whatever just don't put them all together cause in my opinion it looks a little tacky that way. Have fun!!

I like to keep it simple on colors and stuff. if doing multi color lights maybe stick to one or two colors of ornaments like white and red or just white, maybe gold and white or silver and white. first do the lights, then put on ribbon or some kind of garlad, then do the oraments starting with the biggest ones down to the smaller ones. and don't forget the star on top!

i do white and color lights on my tree... how i do it is like this... i put the color lights on the inside of the tree branches running up the center and out 5- 6 inches and then drape the white lights on the outer edges of the branches running inward towards the color lights... i don't overlap them because it dulls out the color lights...
