Tie it in to several of the ceiling joists. Use a really long screw eye hook to support the bar. Will work every time!

Steve is "Spot On" I'll just add my two cents to his answer.

If in fact you have exposed rafters... OR,,, If you find them at the appropriate width for all the hardware; but have to remove ceiling drywall..."TIE" the hardware into the beams/rafters/joists...BUT ON the sides of them; not bracketed from the 1 5/8 inch typical width.

Steve if you mentioned or alluded to that; Sorry bud. I suspect it's the best way to go.

Certainly the hardware itself can be plumbing pipe/ 90 degree elbows/ collars for attaching/ and YOUR measurements determining its height.
