Agreed! They are doing it. So NOW lets make reps aware that we are aware. I mean, how hard is it to make a phone call OR send an email?

Name one computer company that makes products in the US. Some of them assemble in the US, but 99% of all the parts are made in Asia.

We all know outsourcing exist. I think the problem is the federal government is spending OUR TAX DOLLARS on computers that are assembled abroad. I really don't care where the parts come from - I'm more concerned about the American jobs that are being lost to cheaper foreign labor.

If I thought complaining to Congress would be effective - I'd be on the phone RIGHT NOW. But they seem more concerned w/ providing lip service than results. When jobs are lost - we suffer. When companies outsource - we suffer. I'm beginning to think - our elected officials are playing us like fiddles.

THIS IS SOMEWHAT UNRELATED -- But it's about the most recent American plant closing... I don't know if whirlpool outsources or not. But they recently shut down Maytag plants in NEWTON, Iowa - Illinois and Arkansas. It's cutting 4,500 jobs - in an effort to trim about $400 million in operating costs..WOW

That's so commonplace it isn't even interesting. HP, for instance (since I work for them), is also a supplier to the government - and military - and, while some of it's stuff is still 'configured' or 'assembled' in the US, it's suppliers are foreign, and include China.

The list goes on.
They make them everywhere, just like all the rest.

If you took out everything in your computer that's not manufactured in this country, you'd have very little left. It's not just Dell. They're all outsourcing.

They're very aware of it. They condone what's happening.

Dell has computer manufacturing all over the globe. So does IBM, Compaq, and other computer companies.
