For a pediatrian to answer!!!!!!! (about your job)?

Im 13 and i want to be a pediatricion iv seached the internet thousands of times about it. i just some questions they dont answer, for a pediatrician out there

1. what is residency like??how hard is it and what kind of illness do you see in the er???

2. what is the differnce between internship and residency???

3. I read all about the typical day and i get it but what are some common things and not common you see in the office ???

4. what do you have to do for paperwork and how much time do you usally spend on it???

5.What is the wrost and best part of being a pediatrcian???

6. like this my dream job but after i realie everything they do the only thing i worry about is the privite area stuff...how do you get used to having to deal with it????

7. and if you have any rescoures and sites that may be helpfull about anything about pediatrics that will help me now or later

I'm not a pediatrician, but I can answer correctly on behalf of a physician. Here goes (not sure how many actual pediatricians will see your question...)

1. what is residency like??how hard is it and what kind of illness do you see in the er???
RESIDENCY IS not easy, but it is NOT harder than medical school. You are not paid a doctor's salary - it ranges from 3 years to 5 years. Hours are long, but the learning and TEACHING are optimized. After the 1st year, you train medical students and your residency may be spent in a hospital teaching / university setting.

2. what is the differnce between internship and residency???
Internship is the next step after RESIDENCY. Depending on whether you want to specialize further than Peds, then you'd continue on to do a fellowship, for ex. if you want to become a Pediatric ONCOLOGIST, you'd have to do a Ped Onc Internship following Residency. More years! More years with low pay, long hours, but the reward is great and you're helping the world at large.
3. I read all about the typical day and i get it but what are some common things and not common you see in the office ??? (OKAY, can't really answer this one - but remember that not all Docs work in an office setting many work in hospital settings with limited "clinic" contacts)

4. what do you have to do for paperwork and how much time do you usally spend on it??? The load of paperwork is done in the first and second years of residency. How long? HOURS!!! Hours. If you are well organized and can document most of your work, it is very helpful. You need to memorize many charts... much of your time is spent just writing. Documentation also helps prevent you from being sued.

5.What is the wrost and best part of being a pediatrcian???
The worst part is that parents are hard to work with sometimes and kids are not the easiest people to examine. - -- the best part was that it was fun involving playing with the kids.

Hard to explain - unfortunately it becomes just commonplace and because of your frequent exposure, you get accustomed to it.
