thats all normal- dont be so hard on yourself
everyone has done that or felt that way in high school
think about your future- think about what you want to
do in the next 2 years, if you can think about that,
write down some goals, and come up with a game
plan, everything should fall into place- hang in there
you'll be just fine!

Well, you've already taken the first step. You're admiting that you are screwing your chances at a good life. There isn't a day that passes that I wish I didn't do half the stupid things I did in high school. But now that I'm older I see exactly what I did wrong and know what I would do if I were given a second chance.
1) Friends. Or should I say your SO CALLED FRIENDS.
The ones that are always pushing you to skip....DUMP THEM.
2) Make a plan. Short Term First. This way you'll be really motivated to do the Long Term ones when you've accomplished the short ones.
3) Have the confidence to say NO. Be a leader not a follower.
This means having the ability to tell bad influences to leave you alone.
4) Have your teacher sit you in the front of the class. No cover from otehr bodies means you'll have todo the work.
Look. If you want to change, you have the power to do it. You know what needs to be done. Just don't be scared. Take the bull by the horns. It will be hard at first but you'll see the difference in no time and will feel real good about yourself.

Maybe you need to talk to a therapist. They might can help you discover the reason, that you might not even realize exists. You might have ADD, depression, or have other issues. Sometimes these things can be fixed with tweeking the right prescriptions in combination with talk therapy.
The human mind can often times get so used to problems that we push them back. We do this to the point where we either forget, we are in denial, we may not even realize it, or we get stuck in a rut that we don't know how to get out of. We learn to become a functionally sick person or we become very disfuctional. But the root of the problem needs to be discovered and fixed.
Your lack of motivation is not the disease. It is a symptom of something deeper. You also have to set reasonable short term goals and then some long term goals that you can work to achieve. But don't make every goal unachievable (or you get frustrated), and don't make every goal too easy, or you are not accomplishing much.
It's not so hard. The hardest thing is to make the decision. So you say to yourself, "I am going to get out of bed, take a shower, go to school, and I am going to make myself learn something (and give my undivided attention) in ONE class today. Then you will see, that it wasn't so hard! And you will go home and be proud and have a some sense of accomplishment.
Find an adult that you can trust and that you look up to and admire. I have done this and it is amazing the friends that you can find in older people. They want to help you and they understand so much more than you would ever imagine! Listen to them and truly apply what they say, even if it is hard and it is something that you may not necessarily like what you hear. Medicine does not always taste good.

What is it about school that you do not like? Are you doing well in your classes? Have you tried to be successful in at least one class? Do you get to see your friends? Ask yourself these questions and answer honestly. Eventually you have to go back and over time you can pull your grades up. It's not the end of the world if you skipped school but if you continue this you will regret it in the future. Find at least one class you can tolerate and do your best in it. Outside of school do something healthy and enjoyable. Join a club, Find a new friend, start a hobby, go for a walk, get involved in an activity that helps others, talk to you favorite teacher, or someone who shares the same interests as you.

Why do you skip? You are still young so there is time to change. Maybe you could talk to the principle about alternative schooling. Each school district has something for people like you. This will actually be better for you in the long run, because they will guide you in the right direction.

I'll tell you what.. Most of my professors do not take role in class. They don't care whether I show up or not. However, I never skip. I kept telling myself throughout my entire schooling years in HS that "if I skip, I will fail.. If I fail, I will disappoint myself and there is no challenge in failing". Everytime I'd think of skipping school, I'd "dare" myself to go. And then say "I will do this.. Watch that.." or whatever IF I go to school.. And if not, I will not do this or watch that for a week. And I stick to this plan, no mercy. Eventually showing up to classes became a habbit, and now I can NEVER skip a class. Even when I'm dead sick... Just challenge yourself and then reward yourself for every good thing you do... It does work =)
Best of luck ^-^

Change schools immediately. In your new school, try making friends with the "geekier" type of students and get your inspiration to love learning from them. You must be pretty smart to realize your current actions could jeopardize having a successful future. If you can't change schools, check if your school does dog tags, (checks to see you've gone to your classes with a notice the teacher signs when you attend). Or maybe consider homeschooling. Good luck and keep your goals set for your future!

Well, if you don't finish school your chances of becoming a single parent before the age of 20 increase greatly, your chances of becoming involved in illegal activity increase also. Sooooo if you do not aspire to be a single mom on welfare or a criminal i suggest you get your butt to school at start making the grade to graduation.!!! NOTHING is more important in your life right now than making it through highschool. email me if you need more help carolc8632@yahoo

Well, you've reaslised you have an issue, so you alone must deal with it. The only advice anyone can offer you really is, go to class, do your homework, and such. There isin't really a miracle solution here...but good luck.
