i checked everything and reconnected everything

restarted my computer
and it said the same thing

how do i fix this problem?

Try shutting off your router or modem (whatever you have) and then starting it back up again. Some modems or routers have a reset switch on the back of them. If that doesn't work then you may be trying to connect to a network close by and not yours.

There should be an icon down the bottom right corner...of a computer screen, right click it and you should be given an option to "repair" try that...I do it all the time with mine.

Your not getting an IP address - that is why your getting that message. Figure out where your IP address is supposed to come from, then fix that.

unplug your router or your cable modem. If they doesn't help do a winsockfix to it by downloading the app from online.
