Yes, to a certain extent. I do kinda investigate the site I'm about to use. One thing I do is search the site for a Contact Us section. I browse this looking for a real phone number. I even call that number and ask any question I may have. Sometimes I do this while I'm on their website. Very often I've been able to place the order over the phone quicker. If I have a good experience with that, then I feel safer about their website the next time I want to order.

hi buddy!

safe to use in home computers! provided

1. best antivirus protection on your system.

2. your system should be firewalled (most of the antivirus will take care)

3. always ensure the website some times websties can be fake. (e.g original http://www.google.com & fake http://www.google-find-it.com/ )

4.after using credit card details delete temp internet files and cache (u can also disable internet cache)

5.Avoid using credit card info other than u r computer.

6. VERY CRITICAL * when u r system crashes don't give it directly to service centre* becoz u might have stored some critical data in it. BETTER REMOVE THE HARD DISK DRIVE.

hope this helps!

with cheers,
narayan.

the thing is if you do get your ID stolen, you have records of the purchases made on your credit card and therefore it can be followed up. its very difficult for people to get away with credit card scam because of the records. also, its not very likely that you can get your ID stolen, most sites that you would use your credit card on are very safe

Not usually. I just got a charge for some magazine I never ordered. After 30 minutes and listening to all these other offers they agreed to repay my 26 dollars

I have an antivirus program called Norton Internet Security, it blocks spyware so I feel quite safe.

I prefer not to.
I wouldn't use it to make a private purchase, only payment to a large organisation which has security measures installed
