Once when I lived in the Florida Keys, an employee of mine jumped me from behind and put a knife to my throat. She was angry because I hadn't chosen her to be my assistant. The chick was dumber than a sack of hammers. I mean she couldn't even count chickens, dead chickens, it wasn't like they were up and walking around or anything.
Needless to say I told the owner of the company that I quit, that he wasn't paying me enough to get stabbed.
Several months later the police knocked on my door and asked me if I would like to surrender myself and my husband, I asked what for. The chick had filed assault charges ON ME!!! My husband had been sitting outside the business and when he saw her jump me he bailed out of the truck and pulled her off of me. I was staggering around the dining area with this chick on my back.
In Kangaroo court we were sentenced to one year probation and three months community service. In the Florida Keys.......it's all about who has the money to pay the fines!!!
And it's also about who ever runs to the law first......

My husband and I repaired and painted two historic buildings out on Pigeon Key. An old railroad facility from way back in the days. Free labor for the state

No my pride got the best of me, but not enough so I went to pay my ticket in uniform (EMT) after transporting someone to the hospital. Even more funny, was being behind a police officer paying his speeding ticket while in uniform. Those were the days my friend.

You'll have to pay the fine. They don't care why you got it. You have to plead guilty or not guilty and you saying that you were late means you're guilty. If you contest it and lose then you'll probably pay additional court fees. I say pay the ticket, take the class and it won't be on your record.

No, I only had the choice of paying cash or going to jail. I always pick the cash, jail scares me.
