They are still good! I grew up in the 80's so they are classics. :-)

Ghost Busters. The original summer blockbuster.
The Empire Strikes Back. Best of the original trilogy.
Yes, most of the 80's-early 90's movies are a laugh now because of their cheese factor. I think every young actor movie ended with someone jumping in the air...the freeze and fade to black.
No cinematic magic then.

Kudos, Mr Taco: Cinema Paradiso is Molto Bueno! As well as Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.
Out of the Foreign section, The Princess Bride is true classic as well as Time Bandits. Glory and Clockwise should not be missed either.

Hmm difficult. All 80s movies honestly to me are awesome. Some are cheesy and down right bad but thats what makes it entertaining.
