Was the war of 1812 a victory or defeat for america?

Im just wondering because I dont know what to pick for my essay, I mean we technically won because we didnt lose to the british but then again we had a very big amount of causalities and alot of money was spent..

No. It was a war between Napoleon and the Russians

It was basically a draw. But I'd say it was a minor defeat for the US. But England did not want a longer war with the US and negotiated a treaty. The US made out okay on the treaty, so they basically acted like they won.
