My phone is £35 a month, i was in a job and i was going to use my last wages to pay the bill. However my employer hasn't paid me and 2 direct debits have bounced. My bank has charged me a penalty for the last one bouncing at £38. my next bill is due in a few days so another £38 will be added to my negative balance to that. My account shouldn't be able to go into red as its a easycash debit card. I'm on state benefits till my next job(£45 a week). I won't however have any money for a few weeks time. How can i get out of this debt and how can my bank charge me £38 just for a bounced direct debit?

Please do not send me ads for credit or any other financial services. I am not interested. Thanks :)

This is one of the reasons that I would never set up a direct debit on any account I own. I control the outflow of cash. If I were in your situation I would cancel the phone and not pay (until I could). It wouldn't be great on my credit, but it's better than getting dinged with 38 pounds a month in overdraft fees!

good luck!

You should cancel your phone. Maybe if you explain the situation they may be willing to bill you via an alternative method.
