i usually pluck the stray hairs on my eyebrows, but i think they're too bushy. I want thin curved eyebrows, but mine are kinda sweeping. How can i pluck them, but not over pluck them into a nice thin shape and make them look slightly lighter?

go to your salon and get them done professionally. They will give you pointers on how to pluck them after they do it themselves. If you try doing it yourself you might risk messing up. Tell the cosmetologist or beautician what you want and they will do it for you.

The biggest mistake you can make is if you stand in front of your mirror or twenty minutes and do your eyebrows without stepping back a few times to see where you are at. Pluck a bit, step back and evaluate, then pluck some more, etc. You may not notice that you have over-plucked them until you step back and look in the mirror.
Also, if they are rather dark, you can try trimming them to make your eyebrows look lighter. Don't make them too thin, as a well-shaped brow can frame your face beautifully.
Good luck!

Trimming your brows as well as plucking them may help. You can use a spoolie or clean mascara brush & small scissors.

Keep in mind that your brows should be proportionate to your features.

The easiest thing to do is to have your brows shaped by a professional at a salon & then maintain the shape at home.

Go get them waxed then pluck the hairs that start growing in after that where they're not supposed to be daily.
