It looks like you've got your answer before that because stars rotate around the Earth they experience centrifugal acceleration but luckily for us there is another force Coriolis force that is exactly twice as large as centripetal and pulling the stars to the Earth with just enough force for them to be on stable orbit aroung the Earth.

Oh, absolutely. In the old days they used flying horses. But then then they invented the Siemens sky hook (GE violated their patents and so did ACME and the litigation is still ongoing) and that put the flying horse breeders out of business for good.
