i had my son 6 months ago, and i was 3 months b4 i found out i was pregnant and i was a recreational smoker. of course when i found out i was pregnant, i stopped immediately. but you can probably imagine that i was freaking out like you wondering if my baby was going to be slow or something, so i did a lot of research. And what i found is that there is NOT enough research that says that smoking marijuana affects the fetus. That said, it's better not to take that risk. You will only be preggers for 10 months (yes 10, not 9), and then if you decided you want to smoke once in a while, go for it. yes it is true that some marijuana can be laced with bad stuff, but you just have to be careful who you buy it from. and please dont smoke some bull**** pot, that's what kills brain cells. Also, during my last trimester, i had the occassional glass of red wine, and everything was a-ok! to all those people who say marijuana is bad- you are nuts! yes, it is illegal, but so was alcohol at one point. there has NEVER been an overdose on pot, and IT IS NOT a gateway drug. Pot is the only drug i have ever done. i dont even like taking medicine when i get sick! stop judging people.

Don't do it anymore while you are pregnant. Smoking pot isn't good for you, but generally speaking if you do something like have a drink or two during the first two weeks of pregnancy the baby is still okay. However it's not okay to do that anymore once you know you are pregnant.

They address this in "what to expect when you're expecting" among other drugs. The body is a wonderous thing, and so early in pregnancy your body protects your developing fetus like it knows that you could do things that could harm it before you realize that you're pregnant.

I would not worry about use prior to finding out, and now that you know you can stop.

This is not from the book: There is actually a movement of women who use marijuana while pregnant to help fight off nausea and vomiting and swear by it. They all claim to have happy healthy children, but you have to ask yourself; did they get lucky?

Congrats on the baby!!!

You need to stop smoking now that you know you are pregnant. There is nothing you can do about things you did before you knew you were pregnant so try not to worry about it. While I certainly wouldn't recommend smoking pot while trying to conceive, I have known several people who were pot smokers who got pregnant unexpectedly and everything turned out ok. So my advise is stop smoking now, but don't stress out about something you can't change.

If you keep doing it, yes. Pot has risks whether you are pregnant or not. And these days, pot is often laced with other drugs and there's usually no way to be sure you are getting it pure. That makes it even more risky.

When I found out I was pregnant, I was 2 weeks also, and I had drank alcohol a few timesand I was smoking cigarettes. The doctor said everything would be fine. Most women don't know they are pregnant and go about their lives normally(just as you did) It is too early to do any harm, as long as you stoped once you found out.

Some studies suggest that use of marijuana during pregnancy may slow fetal growth and slightly decrease the length of pregnancy (possibly increasing the risk of premature delivery). Both of these factors can increase a woman’s chance of having a low-birthweight baby. These effects are seen mainly in women who use marijuana regularly (six or more times a week).

After delivery, some babies who were regularly exposed to marijuana in the womb appear to undergo withdrawal-like symptoms including excessive crying and trembling.

its bad if you continue but as long as you stop now, there will be no problems. i partied pretty hard one night and found out 2 weeks later that i was pregnant, so i went and talked to my dr, freaking out, he said to relax, the odds of hurting the baby before you know are pregnant are not really likely. as long as you stop all bad habits when you find out about the pregnancy, yall will be fine. good luck with your baby and God bless. CONGRATS!!!

Any smoking is. While smoking, the lungs are filled with smoke and are therefore not getting enough oxygen. So the oxygen that normally leaves your lungs and goes into your blood stream and also through your baby's blood stream is decreased and possibly baby not getting enough oxygen all the time.
