I want to celebrate my bday and most of my friends have kids (babies). Any suggestions as to where to go or what to do - that would be comfortable for the moms and enjoyable for the b-day girl? Westside/Santa Monica/venice area

I wanted to know of specific places that would be nice for a group of five women with babies in or around Venice/Santa Monica/Brentwood

Maybe just lunch at a quiet coffee house or a tea place or a juice/smoothie bar? I don't know anything about LA. If you are breastfeeding mommas you can't drink and may need to order decaf coffees but a healthy deli meal would be good for new moms.

Another option is that all of you pitch in for a pair of babysitters, (or you treat since it is your party) bring the kids and all the playpens to one of your homes, and pay them a lump sum for all the babies. Babies are a lot easier to manage than toddlers or preschoolers...point being you could go wherever you want, have a few mocktails or a grownup dinner, dance a little, gossip, catch a movie or a play, or play a few rounds of darts or pool without the kids.

This is going to sound weird and they don't have one in Santa Monica exactly, but CLAIMJUMPERS actually has a rather large selection of both a children's menu and a baby menu. I think they even have baby food if you ask. I know they have a menu on their website.

Have fun!

Are the kids going out with you on you bday? Do lunch or dinner and if time is an issue, just meet with your friends at a coffee house or jamba juice.

You know your friends, what are they comfortable doing?

Have you been to Dave & Busters. Its like a Chucky Cheese but better and better prizes for both adults and kids.
