Yes, if your ex has the kids more, then you'll be paying more. They will have to go to court to have the amount increased.

Child support and child visitation are two entirely separate issues. You owe child support just because you are the parent. Each parent is supposed to contribute half if they both make the same. If one spouse earns more, that spouse pays more. Visits and custody are a separate issue. You should be able to see your child as often as possible because it's good for the child. If you only see your child during the summer, you still pay your child support on time or get in trouble with the courts. You should save your money and fly home for a visit at holiday time, too. It's a shame you are moving away from you child because your child needs you. By moving away, you are sending a message that you don't really care about your child, and the child feels that. Unless you are in the military, try to find a job closer to your baby.

That would depend on the total number of days that you would see you child. Because support is worked out on the amount of time each parent has the child in their care. So yes, I would say the amount of support would increase if the other parent has more days of care, due to you moving away.
***To the answer below - they are not seperate issues, how much time you have the child IN YOUR CARE does affect the amount of child support required, at least it does here.

The best advice to give you would be to contact a Lawyer and they will know for sure if you may have to pay more money to the other parent. But it varies from State to State in how Child support is formulated. As for the MANY people replying to your question and saying how bad it is to leave your child behind, it is no of there business because they don’t why you are moving. You could be in the Military and have no chose but to move where they tell you.

Ok so yes it can increase if you loose time they can ask for more money because the child will be with them more and all they have to do is file a modification by way of phone or filed paperwork. the second is you have to pay for transport of the child back and forth supply a guardian and then medical cost for the child if your not already paying the co parent only has to prove that in your absence there cost of living is more. Medical is what they require if a child is ever hurt when flying.

I dont get why anybody would move far away from their child. Child support should be the last thing on your mind.

no. it's a permanent set amount by the courts. Now if you start making a considerable more amount of money the other parent I do believe can take you to court to ask for an increase. But it doesn't automatically go up just because your visitation changes.

Any support arrangements and amounts are handled by the courts. The other parent CAN petition for more, if you have the child less, because they have to incur more costs, due to more time.
