Should I start Frank Gore or Justin Fargas?

I know this sounds CRAZY, but Frank has been so bad lately. Plus, he's missing practices because his ankle is hurt again, and his offense is as terrible as ever. BUT ... he's Frank Gore!

Fargas is slowly working towards the starting spot for the Raiders. LaMont Jordan has been even worse than Gore lately, and Fargas actually had more carries/receptions than him last week, for way more yards. Plus the Raiders are against the leagues 20th ranked rush D.

This is for my #2 RB spot - I have Marion Barber starting as my #1.

Who should I start this week?

I only say Fargas is "slowly taking over the #1 spot" because Jordan has been SOOOO bad lately, Rhodes is out of the picture, and last week Fargas got more carries, receptions, and total yards than Jordan. Plus I've read it all over. But ... GORE is GORE.

If you take away that one game against Miami (22 carries for 179 yards), that gives Fargas 154 yards and 0 TDs this year. Even in that Miami game, he didn't see the end zone.

In his last 3 games, he has 2 rushes for 10 yards, 1 rush for 1 yard, and 12 rushes for 61 yards. So, is that really an indication that he's taking over the starting spot for the Raiders?

Also, Gore was removed from last week's game against New Orleans because of a twisted ankle. He certainly would have gotten more than 41 yards if he played the whole game. And, he is not listed as injured on San Francisco's injury report.

I just can't help but feel that you're going to be kicking yourself Monday morning for starting Justin Fargas over Frank Gore this weekend.

Sit Fargas. Jordan is still their main choice. If they are tied or winning, he will get the carries to control the clock.

Gore has been off due to no pass offense and defenses keying on him. I think he gets 80 yrs and a score this weekend vs ATL.

You have to take your chances on Gore. He's playing Atlanta and even though he's been disappointing, he could blow up this weekend. Fargas on a good day might get as many points as Gore on a bad day.
