anyhow I have only spoke to her over the internet and once on the phone last night. Never met her or anybody else that will be there tonight. I said I would go and my husband said I should go to make new friends I have lived here for 4 years and have a couple of friends here by our home. I have a lot of other friends we don't see much because they don't like to drive that far to see us. Mind you it's only about a 15 minute drive from their homes to ours but yet they want us to drive to see them all the time. Anyhow I 'm kinda shy and amd affraid to go meet these people. Should I go or should I say I can't make it? Thanks

First let me say they are not your friends. If they where the drive would mean nothing to friends,15 min oh come on. You will do good to go with her tonight and really enjoy yourself . Please try and make friends being shy is all in your mind be yourself everything will be fine . You do need real Friends because the one you have are flakes . So go enjoy yourself make new friends be happy. I'm sure you deserve it. Even your hubby thinks so, so go ahead and give it a try (you don't want your Son's friends mom to think your a snob or you think your to good just go )

You should go ... She obviously likes you and your conversations. These people don't know, you may even bump into a friend there you hadn't seen in a long time ... Remember the saying "Small World" This is a chance to open up... Ask her how long you will be there and let her know you really wish not to stay too long. A bridal shower should last a good two hours. So go and have fun.

I can see why you feel awkward. I still say go though. You will meet new people. Brial Showers have fun games and things too. This will force you to talk to people. Plus, getting to know your sons friends parents has got to be important to you. As your children become teenagers, you will need to be a team as kids can get themselves into trouble easy. Anyway, good luck and have fun tonight.

You should go, but I would have a hard time going into a situation like that myself. I think it's important to at least try to meet new people and be in different situations.
I would say go, because then you can say at least you tried, even if it was awful, and it may be really fun and you might get to talk to some interesting people.

♥ You should definetly go and have a good time! Shyness always seems to get in the way of making new friends, but hopefully once you get there you will loosen up and enjoy yourself. :-) If you get there and feel super uncomfortable just leave. Good Luck!
