I am looking to visit America/Canada for three months and I am looking for the best places to visit. Can somebody give me some ideas of places that must be seen?

I also want to know what the rules are in terms of passing over the border from America to Canada are. Is it possible for me to do that without much trouble and is it the same going both ways?

I am from Scotland with a British passport

Visit Niagra falls - they're truly awesome in the word's truest sense . They can be seen from US side in Buffalo NY and you can travel over the border to visit the Falls themselves (don't go at the weekend it is packed ) - we went on a Wednesday in November and it was deserted - Maid of the Mist doesn't run in the winter when there is ice around. .
