what about marriage? Has that been discussed? I think you should get yourself another apartment.

Talk about looking for a smaller apartment and see what he says. You are too old to get into the moving in together trick if your son is going to a university so wait until love is discussed along with marriage before setting up house with him.

First off, congratulations on that last one getting ready to fly out the nest!!

The only thing I shall bring up to consider is this- if your SO does live with you, the dynamics of the relationship will change...

Will he expect you to assume more "wifely duties" as opposed to "girlfriend" type things?? You know what i mean....you may enjoy having a place all to yourself for once in lets face it, a VERY LONG TIME! You have been caring and sacrificing for others for a long time. Perhaps, just for a short while, it should be time for YOU.

Just a thought. The choice ultimately is yours. Good luck Sunbun!!!

Well if I were you, I would not move in with your "SO" because your only child, might come home, there are all kinds of reasons why your son/daughter might need to come home. I am a firm believer of getting married before living with someone. However it is your choice. You shouldn't have to ask us, you should know what you need to do. If you don't know your not ready IMO~ (in my opinion)

Get your own place. Don't move in with him or have him move in with you. It will change things. (I know) My SO and me have been together for 2 years but have been living together for the last year. It is different now than what it was before. Good Luck :)

It all depends how your relationship is going if he is ready for that next BIG move when I moved in with my new boyfriend I moved in when we first met and we met on the chat line I moved in on the 3rd day.
There were up's and downs but we hardly ever fight but it was a really good way to get to know each other inside and out.
The decision is all up to you but it will but exciting.

If you've been reading my stuff I'd get the smaller apartment and just have a nice free time letting yourself go...go to Hawaii, go to Mexico, have fun. He'll tell you what he wants, maybe tell him you're moving to a smaller place and let him stop you. Otherwise, don't grovel.

If you think the relationship is ready for that step then yes you should. If you just want to move in together because it is convenient then that is a bad idea.
What is and SO?

Smaller apartment, your young adult now has a life to live.

get a smaller place as your hideaway or safe haven.

you can spend many nights with him but when something goes awry you might be glad you have a place to go.
