For instance Clorox is clorine. Baking soda is Sodium Bicarbonate ect.
I sometimes wish to acquire the chemicals quickly, but dont know what brand of product or name to purchase. The product manufacture does not always state what is in the product, as they are required for food products.

Clorox is NAOCl (Sodium Hypochlorite). The easiest way to acquire is your school lab, altho they usually have only the common reagents

Well, chlorox isn't chlorine, it is sodium hypochlorite (NaClO).

For the most part, comparable products are going to have the same basic components. You could probably google certain products and find out what is actually in them. Also, the more chemistry you study, the more of them you'll learn...

MSDS or material safety data sheets are best place for info on chemicals, and these exist for tons of stuff from cleaning products to white out. You should be able to search them on the web and distributors are supposed to provide them also. They give info on the product, and hazard grades.
