You are asking about 2 different things -

1. YOUR HOME PAGE
2. your BROWSER'S HOME PAGE

YOUR HOME PAGE is a website that you own and maintain. You put stuff on it for others to see. Your BROWSER'S HOME PAGE is just the first site you look at when you go online each day.

To set the browser's home page in Windows Internet Explorer, he would go to tools>>>internet options>>>general>>>use current.

In Firefox, it would be tools>>>options>>>main>>>use current pages.

If your home page is hosted on Yahoo! or some other site, then no. If the page is hosted on your own computer then you'll have to reload it onto your new machine. Any pages, codes, pictures or any other item that your page uses that is stored on your hard drive will have to be moved to the new machine regardless.

I am hoping that you are asking about your browser homepage. Its this way Click Start-->then Control Panel-->then Network and Internet Connections-->the Internet options-->then a window opens there you see a word named "Address" and beside that is a text box. Just type the address of whichever website you want to see first in your browser. Then at the bottom click "Apply" and then "Ok". Thats it, you are done.

Be sure which ever homepage he uses that he resets Norton NIS if he is using it as a firewall. If not, it is very frustrating, because no matter how many times you click "set as my home page" it will return to the default page. In NIS you have to deselect, do not allow home page change, then reselect it when you are finished. This drove me mad before I found it.

Tools: Options: Main: set homepage

Why do ppl use homepages anyway? I use about: blank so I can nav to wherever I choose. I hate opening FF and it auto-loads some page I may not want to load.
