connecting to internet?

how can i setup my pc to connect to the internet via my wireless laptop, i connect the ethernet cable between them.i get a icon saying that i have local limited connection? how can i configure this to make it work. please help

you have to set up an home network, use connection sharing. Your laptop (host) will share connection with desktop, it is easy.

Your wireless laptop connects to what, a wireless router? Does the wireless router have unused Ethernet ports on it, if so - plug your desktop into one of those.

If that isn't practical, get a wireless NIC for your desktop.
