its so funny you say this, my son just the other day hurt his finger, i said oh let me just go get a knife and cut it off and then it wont hurt anymore. my mom used to say it all the time and it made me forget the pain and i was back to playing. i say it playfully to him so he doesnt freak out, he actually laughs at me like no you crazy lady i want to keep my finger lol.
