I have a friend that hasn't responded to an email that I left a few weeks ago. She is busy but not that busy. I keep in touch with her cousin almost daily but never mention my friendship with my friend. I don't bug her a lot or even that much. I occasionally do a "checking in, how you doing" type of email and she used to reply, now she just does nothing. Am I reading too far into this? If she didn't want to talk, it would be her type to say, "Hey, I don't want to keep in touch" and I am the type to respect the request.. and she knows this.

ssmesq - one email was about 2 months ago and had a "read receipt" attached and it was read and the most recent one was on myspace and it showed she read it. Her cousin said that she is getting "a little weird" and that nothing serious has happened. Maybe she broke things off with her boyfriend... but how would I know?! lol!

Well id be pretty miffed myself. It doest take long to type a quick email to a friend, no matter how busy she is. Give her a bit more time then perhaps ask if everythings alright.

Just because she hasn't replied to you doesn't mean she wants nothing to do with you.. she may very well be busy even though you dont think she is... there could be lots of reasons as to why she hasnt gotten back to you. Give it some time

Are you positive the email went through? Not all of them do, and not all in a reasonable time. I've gotten Christmas emails in April. I'd drop her another line.

It does sound like she's giving you the cold shoulder. I do think it's disrespectful to not reply to someone, but I can't say I haven't brushed people away either. If she is ditching you, just try to not take it too personally, big dawg!

Indeed it is. For myself, I am often disappointed by said "friends" when I am not replyed to. It makes me think I am not worthy of their attention. The right thing to do, is to always contact those who you claim to be friends to you, and appreciate the same, towards you. How else can one believe in their friends?

if she doesn't respond, its tough to think that she considers you a 'close' friend
